Something about me..

The Beginning

Coming from a small medieval town, Asolo, nestled in the Italian Prosecco hills, I began my academic journey with a BSc in Psychobiological and Cognitive Science, later specialising in Neuroscience and Cognitive Rehabilitation at the University of Padua (Italy). My curiosity soon turned toward how neuroscience could be applied in education and clinical practice, especially through the transformative power of music!

Soon after, I went on to complete my clinical training at the Centre for Ageing Domenico Sartor in Castelfranco Veneto, and gained the certification to practise as a psychologist.

The Journey...

My research path took me to the Cambridge Institute for Music Therapy Research (Anglia Ruskin University, Prof Jörg Fachner), followed by a Joint PhD (Doctor Europaeus) in Pedagogical and Educational Science at the University of Padua (supervised by Prof. Michele Biasutti) and Psychology at Middlesex University London (MCCLab, Prof Fabia Franco). During this time, I collaborated on European projects exploring industrial and organisational learning, music psychology, and cognitive wellbeing across the lifespan.

...up to Now!!

After completing my PhD, I worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Middlesex University, leading the MusiCare project (funded by the Vivensa Foundation) on music, ageing, and wellbeing. Alongside academia, I began consulting for companies on neuroscience and psychological well-being, delivering training programmes that connect science with everyday practice.

In early 2025, I was also appointed as a Referee for European Projects, contributing my expertise to the evaluation of international research initiatives.

I later became an Adjunct Professor at the University of Padua, and I am currently a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of West London.

When I’m not teaching, researching, or consulting, you’ll often find me at the piano, hiking in the mountains, or writing poetry.
